Nietzche is dead

"God is dead"-- Nietzsche, 1886
"Nietzsche is dead"-- God, 1901

"Nietzche is dead. God" was part of an ad campaign from Oglivyone Singapore to bring God back into daily life. It was a one simple campaign in which all the touchpoints gave meaning to the same idea, and every piece of communication employed its specific possibilities to the fullest.

In different touchpoints, God has been given a personality – someone who talks to you in his own way, with wit, irony, humor and complete irreverence in simple ads, SMS’s, TV commercials, posters and bus displays. For example it is God who says: "“I hate rules. That’s why I only made ten of them"

Yeah sure, Nietzche is dead… I'm not sure about God though. What I'm sure about is God is a myth, and if he's really there, he / she doesn't really care. I honestly believe that the Greeks have done a much better job with their Gods, they make much more sense.

  1. I really DO AGREE with you. I´m Atheist and I´m very satisfied with that. But I also understand that people must have something to hold on. SomeONE. And that ONE is God. And they will carry on killing and dying in the name of God. By the way.. is Nietzche really dead??? And you know... I´d like to ask you some questions about the arab culture. Do you mind? And good to hear you got your bag back. Great photos!

  2. Well wolfy, I'm not atheist, I enjoy holding to that someone, you know it's like being a kid who indulges himself to the idea of Santa, like your little Johnny. You know, in religion, i enjoy the things that most people define as duties, and i'm not so sure about the real believe. A lot of people say that they are good (religious) because they are religious in their heart and they believe in god, although they do not really conduct a real religious life. I cannot say that; what i enjoy at the contrary are the things that most people miss, i enjoy praying, it's such a great exercise, 100 times better than yoga, i enjoy reading the qoran, i enjoy fasting and being good. Am i doing this to get an end of service compensation from the big one up there? no. Do I really believe that one day I’ll stand before my creator and he or she will assess my “performance”? I don’t. But I don’t care…

    Re the photos, thanks!!!
